Mbieri School & Community Owerri, Nigeria

The GCF have helped with the most pressing and most basic essential health care needs of the children by providing quality portable water free of charge to Mbieri School & Community. We raised £7,000 to build a major water well with a motorized pump in a rural community, where 80% of illness is due to lack of clean water. This will help reduce malaria, cholera, typhoid, hepatitis and river blindness and means that the population of 20,000 will never need to drink contaminated and disease ridden water from again.

This project was overseen by a Foundation for Missions and Development in Mbieri School & Community in Owerri Diocese run by Rt. Rev Cyril C Okorocha, PhD, Anglican Bishop of Owerri.
